Training and development

Your training begins the day you start with us:

1. Your career with us starts with a full company induction programme, covering all areas from company history and our vision to fire safety, manual handling, food hygene and health & safety. For café managers this also includes a tour of the Bakery and Head Office.

3. Training courses.

We offer these training courses and opportunities:

• Customer Service Awareness training
• Basic Food Hygiene training
• Basic Health and Safety training
• Product Awareness training
• Coffee Awareness training, by our trained café Barista's. This will ensure you share our passion for coffee, and become confident in our drinks range.
• Honest and constructive performance review system.
• Within the first three months of employment we complete more detailed Food Safety training with all employees.
• IT training for the Administration team.

The Training Team

You'll be encouraged to develop within the company - both yourself and your skills.

The Training Team consists of two training managers, one focused on the retail operations, the other on the food production side of the business. Both are fully committed to the success of both business and employees.

Managers training

All new Café Managers receive a Managers Training plan, and Training Manual before their start date.  They will complete a full training programme, off site, at a chosen café before starting within their own café.  This allows time to experience the company, and at the same time learn about our business.

Extra courses for café managers:

• Employment law training
• Appointed persons first aid training
• Externally accredited 'Level 2 Food Safety Training'.
